In manufacturing a thin-walled plastic container such as a bottle by blow-molding, it is important to provide a thin-walled portion. In particular, in a bottle for containing a beverage, such as a carbonated beverage or a sparkling wine or the like, the thickness of the wall is an important factor in maintaining the flavor or the carbonated property.
According to the conventional method, the blow-molding method is used, and in a thin-walled portion of the bottle, a thin-walled portion is formed by a thinner wall thickness than the rest of the wall thickness, and this thin-walled portion is thickened in a later step. For example, a bottle for containing a beverage is manufactured by first blow-molding a preform having a thin wall. After that, the formed bottle is blow-molded by a molding machine to the final thickness. The thin wall portion of the bottle is thickened at the final step.
